En la localidad de suba, en el barrio Bilbao, vive Julieth Viviana Álvarez Simbaqueva con sus padres, María Janet y Julio Cesar. Las actividades favoritas de Julieth se definen en hacer deporte montando cicla junto a su madre; desarrollar el arte country el cual es un estilo artístico con acabados rústicos y múltiples colores de preferencia vivos. Tiene favoritismo por los juegos de mesa como el domino, parques, lotería y el más elegido por ella, armar rompecabezas.

Una de sus más grandes pasiones es la música, de preferencia mexicana. Tiene varias cantantes favoritas como: Rocio Durcal, Ana Gabriel, Alejandra Guzmán entre otras. A veces en su cuarto le gusta imitarlas y disfrutar cada letra de sus canciones. Julieth realizo sus estudios de primaria y bachillerato en el colegio República Bolivariana de Venezuela. Fue diagnosticada con discapacidad cognitiva moderada a los 7 meses de nacimiento por Accidente Cerebro Vascular (lesión en el cerebro por interrupción sanguínea). Para sus padres fue muy fuerte recibir esta noticia: “Después de que tu bebe se ve bien y se presente esta situación, solo quería que me tragara la tierra. Son miles de preguntas que se presenta y gracias a Dios con el tiempo he ido despejando” afirma María Janet.

Julieth y su familia llegan a FUNDEI por la profesora de Wuayu, Lucia y afirma que desde que inicio y en sus cuatro años de permanencia le ha traído conocimientos y oportunidades. “Julieth ha reforzado sus aprendizajes escolares, socialmente comparte más, practica ejercicio físico guiado. Yo he podido adquirir experiencias frente a diferentes discapacidades”, afirma la madre de Julieth.

Durante toda su vida el proceso de Julieth ha sido lento pero transformador, durante sus primeros 10 años, empezaron a enseñarle sus padres procesos básicos de aprendizajes, también con ayuda de profesores personalizados aprueba sus años escolares. En la actualidad Julieth practica otras actividades lúdicas como pintar, participo en un concurso CULTURA FESTIVA, el cual hace parte de la alcaldía local, este se realizó en el parque Santa Isabel y quedo en segundo puesto.

Uno de los recuerdos más bonitos que tiene Julieth con su familia fue cuando la selecciono la secretaría de educación en el programa, los niños conocen el mar. Era su primer viaje sola por siete días y seis noches; este merito se lo gano por el buen desempeño académico a la edad de 19 años. “Fue difícil para nosotros dejarla ir, pero era el valor de su esfuerzo y peso más el reconocimiento”, afirma su madre.

Todos los sábados de Julieth son llenos de música en FUNDEI un arte que le ayuda a combinar diferentes sonidos con la variación de secuencias; también aprende diferentes idiomas en polyglot una de sus clases favoritas. Los domingos asiste a deportes en donde aprende el valor de trabajar en equipo en donde se motiva con los retos que le brinda esta clase. De lunes a viernes hace actividades en casa como danzas en donde explora la coordinación, movilidad y flexibilidad, aumentando su autoestima, y por último dibujo en donde expresa sus sentimientos por medio de los trazos y colores que identifican su alma.
